Baremetrics vs Churnkey: who should pick which
Churnkey fits a team that wants cancel flows and failed-payment recovery in one product, and Baremetrics fits a team that wants subscription reports first. Churnkey Starter is $250 a month billed yearly, or $300 billed monthly, for teams with less than $5K a month in churn volume, Churnkey's word for the revenue lost to churn each month.
Baremetrics Launch is $49 a month with the pricing page's yearly-billing switch on and $75 with it off, for up to $360K ARR. Recover (Payment Recovery) and Cancellation Insights are +$129 a month each, as read on October 23, 2026.

Try Baremetrics →Churnkey pricing by churn volume against Baremetrics by ARR
Churnkey's pricing is driven by your average monthly churned revenue and fixed for 12 months. Starter is the only plan with a visible price. Core and Intelligence are for teams with $10K or more in monthly churn volume. Churnkey's pricing page offers a trial on Core and a quote on Intelligence. Churnkey's page data lists Core at $500 to $1,300 a month billed annually.
Baremetrics prices by ARR band instead: Launch to $360K ARR, Growth from $189 a month with the yearly switch on ($255 off) for $360K to $3.6M, and Scale from $749 ($1,152 off) above $3.6M. The two meters do not convert, so a price comparison needs your own churned revenue and ARR.
Two other Churnkey competitors price by MRR instead: Churn Buster from $269 a month for one product and Stunning from $60 a month at $5K to $12K MRR. Baremetrics vs Churn Buster sets the first against Recover, and Baremetrics alternatives covers the wider field.
Cancel flows against Cancellation Insights
Churnkey's Cancel Flows can offer more than a discount: targeted offers, plan pauses and plan switches, with cooldown periods that make a customer wait before taking another discount. A hosted link needs no embed. Churnkey says its flows reduce active churn up to 54%, a vendor claim.
Cancellation Insights collects reasons you write and order yourself, through an in-app widget or an email sent one hour after cancellation. Its retention offer is a discount only, applied as a Stripe coupon, and it needs the Baremetrics Stripe app. The Stripe cancellation survey guide shows what Stripe's portal does without either.
Failed payments: precision retries against Recover
Churnkey layers precision retries on top of Stripe's, adds email and SMS campaigns and hosted payment-update flows, and can show an in-app payment wall to past-due accounts. Churnkey says its retries recover 55% of failed payments in 4.8 days against 51% in 5.5 days for Stripe alone, a Churnkey claim rather than an independent figure.
Recover has no retry schedule of its own. It sends seven emails by default, SMS and banners, and leaves retries to your processor.
Billing systems, security and trials
Churnkey lists Stripe, Chargebee, Maxio, Paddle and Braintree and says it is built for Stripe. Recover works with Stripe, Braintree and Recurly, and with Chargebee where customer email addresses are collected, so Recurly merchants sit on Baremetrics' side of the list. Churnkey's pricing page states SOC-2 Type II.
Both offer a 14-day trial. Churnkey's pricing page says no credit card is required. Baremetrics' sign-up page is headed "Start your 14 day free trial", and its Metrics page says no credit card is required.
