Baremetrics vs Churn Buster: who should pick which
Pick Churn Buster for retries routed by decline code with branded email and SMS: Dunning starts at $269 a month, with no contract. Pick Baremetrics when you also want subscription reports. Recover (Payment Recovery) is a $129 a month add-on to a Baremetrics plan and leaves retries to your processor.
As read on October 23, 2026, Launch (up to $360K ARR) shows $49 a month with the pricing page's yearly-billing switch on and $75 with it off. Growth ($360K to $3.6M ARR) shows $189 and $255. Adding Recover makes Launch $178 or $204, under $269, and Growth $318 or $384, over it (arithmetic from those figures).

Try Baremetrics →Churn Buster pricing by MRR against the flat $129
Churn Buster's pricing page lists Measure, which is free; Dunning or Cancel Flows, each from $269 a month; both together from $430; and Advisory, $2,500 one time, credited if you adopt its tools within 90 days. The fee is flat by MRR tier, about 0.1% of MRR per product, and the page prints no tier table.
Recover is a flat $129 a month on any plan, plus prepaid credits for SMS. The Build-your-own page and two comparison pages also offer 10% of recovered revenue. The ROI guarantee covers the flat add-on only: "Recover more than your Baremetrics cost or your next month is free." Churn Buster says it is priced to break even at roughly a 1% improvement in recovery rate.
Retries: decline codes against your processor schedule
Churn Buster routes each retry by decline code and says it skips codes the networks say never to retry. Baremetrics' Recover page says Recover has no retry schedule of its own, so your processor retries, for example with Stripe Smart Retries. One Baremetrics comparison page says Recover automates retries; this page follows the Recover page.
Churn Buster also offers a card-update page that needs no login on Stripe and Braintree. Its dunning page lists Stripe, Recurly and Braintree among its platforms, and Chargebee is not listed. Recover covers Chargebee where customer emails are collected. See does Stripe retry failed payments for what Smart Retries do. This is not legal or financial advice.
Cancel Flows against Cancellation Insights
Churn Buster's Cancel Flows ask why a customer is leaving, then show a save offer. Churn Buster says the flow has a one-click cancel option on the first step, for click-to-cancel requirements. Baremetrics sells Cancellation Insights, a separate +$129 a month add-on: reasons by email an hour after cancellation or an in-app widget, and a discount offered as a Stripe coupon for a chosen reason. Discount is the only offer type for now.
Take a finance lead at a $2M ARR SaaS who needs MRR, churn and LTV reports for the board and wants cancellation reasons and a retention offer at the cancel button. Baremetrics covers both: Growth for the reports, plus Cancellation Insights at +$129 a month. Churn Buster's price list shows Measure, Dunning, Cancel Flows and Advisory, with no MRR or LTV report among them.
Setup, trials and running one tool
Baremetrics opens with a 14 day free trial, per its sign-up page, and Recover has its own 14 days. Churn Buster begins with a booked call and lists no self-serve trial; setup takes about an hour with its team.
Baremetrics advises one dunning tool at a time on its Churn Buster comparison page, so pick Recover or Churn Buster Dunning, not both. Recover's setup and guarantee are on Baremetrics Recover; leaving Churn Buster is covered on Churn Buster alternatives.
